Teagan Schweitzer

Although relatively new to salsa, Teagan has been dancing since she was 3 years old. She started out focusing principally on ballet and jazz and joined the Dance Ensemble of Michigan (DEMI) at the age of 10.

After performing with this group through college at the University of Michigan and teaching both ballet and jazz for a number of years at Studio 1 School of Dance, Teagan moved to Philadelphia for graduate school at the University of Pennsylvania. Once in Philadelphia she was an active member of the swing dancing community for about 5 years, where she began to hone her social dancing skills. She also joined Sparks Dance Company, a community service focused dance company, at Penn for 3 years. Teagan has been doing hip hop for the past 10 years and performs with Imprint Dance Company under the direction of Samuel Antonio Reyes. 

Teagan is originally from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She completed her Ph.D. in Anthropology specializing in Historical Archaeology at the University of Pennsylvania in 2010. She is also a yoga instructor at Philly Power Yoga, where she has been teaching for the past 5 years.

Teagan is someone who tries to expend her energy on the things she is most passionate about in her life, not the least of which is certainly dancing. She is excited and honored to be a part of the Estilo family of instructors and performers.
